Zinecontribution
It's been a while since Jojo from Resurrectionists asked me to write a statement about the Cry Me A River Fest and what especially connects us as a band to this kind festival. Actually these words should have been printed in a zine right before this years fest but the zine is still delayed. After weeks of waiting i decided to post the article on our blog, so here it is:
"What comes
to my mind when I’m thinking about the CMAR? A bunch of memories I would never
forget or sell for anything. It was in the year 2006 when we’ve been there for
the first time with our former band and our friends in Amalthea. None of us
knew what to expect and we were pretty stoked about the whole atmosphere and
felt fine from the first moment.
For the
first time we were able to see bands such as June Paik, Cease Upon The Capitol
or Am I Dead Yet. I guess that one of the most notable memories is when Raein
played “tiger suit” as part of their supposed last show at the fest. The band
was surrounded by the audience. The sweat dropped down from the ceiling, the
air was more than wasted and everybody screamed along the song. This memory
gets me goose-bumps while I’m writing this. It was a perfect ending for the
fest and we all drove completely happy home knowing that the last two days were
something very special. We’ll never forget the moment we invaded with felt 1000
people the house of family Ulbrich and played human Tetris to get everyone a
place to sleep. Holy shit, but it all worked out very well.
In the
following years we visited the CMAR over and over again and it became more and
more something like a family reunion. You know that you’re able to see friends
you haven’t seen in a while, you know you gonna be able to see lots of great
bands and you know you’ll have one of the best breakfasts of the year.
The fact
that the fest still has an assessable frame by size, prices and time is a
pretty thing that could be seen as a tradition. We never felt so happy to play
among so many people and we never wanna miss one single moment we were able to
collect in all those years.
What stays
is to mention that year by year a couple of people invest time, passion, sweat
and I guess a lot of nerves to make it happen over and over again. This year
will be the 13th CMAR what shows that there is an interest for music
based on diy-ethics, it shows that music still can be independent and have its
place beside the mainstream and it shows that nothing must be a big thing to
get “successful” or to build something like a tradition. Communication, passion
and friendship still are the keys to get things done.
From the
bottom of our hearts, thank you Family Ulbrich and every helping hand for
proving this year by year. We are more than grateful."

What Is Going On At The Black Everest Camp
At the moment we are focused on writing new material for the upcoming album. Two songs left to write. After this we'll connect all single songs and maybe work with a couple of guestmusicians. The split 7" with Reka is still in progress. To celebrate the release we started talking about a small russiatrip in autumn/winter 2013 to play moscow and st. petersburg. Beside this trip there will be a couple of single shows in germany and maybe another weekendtrip. We'll let you know the details as soon as we have concrete informations.

Splitrelease with Reka
We are happy to announce that our next release will be a split seveninch with our russian friends in Reka from Moscow. The singleseries on Moment Of Collapse Records got cancelled, so the split will appear as a discrete release. To make this one a special, each band reinterpretates a song of the other band and wrapes it in a new garb. We choose Reka's "flooded lazaretto" which was released back on their second album years ago. Reka picked our song "Neid hat immer eine Lobby" from our latest split LP with "Captain, Your Ship Is Sinking".
We nearly finished the recordings and hope to get this release out during the late summer. Details like a concrete releasedate, label(s), artwork, preorder etc. will follow soon.
enjoy the sun, listen to diy music and keep yourself alive!

Black Everest is a four-piece again
We are more than happy to announce that we found in Arne a new bandmember. He is taking care for the second guitar. First rehearsals are done and we'll play our first show together at the CMAR. Since Andi left the band, who lately once again said that he'll won't return, we missed the presence of another guitar so we had to act.
See you at the CMAR!

Up The Everest
The Fiducia Fest is over and we played our first set as a three-piece, which turned out that we still have to develope and reorganize a couple of things. All in all we had a great time and are thankfull that we've been invited and able to share the time with so many old and new friends. Once again thanks to all the other bands, Jos and everybody involved who made the festival happen. Hopefully there will be another part of the fest in 2K14.
As some of you maybe noticed we carried the split LP with "Captain, Your Ship Is Sinking" to our table. So we are happy to finally say that the record is released. There are 300 copies made. One half on classic black vinyl and the other half on blue vinyl. The artwork was done by Mara Piccione and printed on gatefold jackets. We are more than satisfied with how the record turns out and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. At this point we would like to thank Moment Of Collapse Records (Europe), 50 Year Storm (US), IFB Records (US) and Win Thein (UK) for releasing those songs, thank you so much guys!
We still have a couple of them available from the band. For the case you want one drop us a line to blackeverest(at)web.de
The release already got a proper review right here (sorry, only german language):
http://borderlinefuckup.com/2013/03/23/black-everestcaptain-your-ship-is-sinking-split-12inch-moment-of-collapse/
Beside a couple of rehearsals we recorded our song for the split 7inch with our beloved friends in Reka. The song is a reinterpretation of their "flooded lazaretto". Reka will do the same with our song "neid hat immer eine lobby". The record will be released as part of the Moment Of Collapse Single Series. Details on that series will be announced soon.

2013 // A New Endeavor
Hope all of you had a nice holidayseason and survived all social obligations. 2012 was a very rough year for Black Everest and we hope to be way more active in 2013. We had our first rehearsal as a three-piece and it turned out satisfying, which means that our jorney still isn't over. We wrote a new song which will be the first one for the album we will hopefully release during this year. For sure our sound changed, but as always we'll not try to give ourselves a dumb drawer to be classed in. Beside a fulllengh we are working on a splitrelease with REKA and a couple of weekendtours as well as a small tour during the easterholidays. Details will be anounced during the following weeks.
One of our labels "Moment Of Collapse Records" opened a new mailorder which can be found here:
http://records.kollektif.eu/index.php
Our split LP with CYSIS is still delayed and the pressingplant informed us that it will be done in february 2013. This release seems to be the most delayed you've ever heard of. We are sorry.
Borderline Fuckup shared this release and respected it for their summary of the year 2012. Details can be found here:
